The Vestry of All Saints

The Vestry is the lay governing body in our church. Its responsibilities are generally to raise and spend money, to oversee the buildings and grounds of the church property, and to hire a rector.

In order to carry out these responsibilities, the vestry will need to oversee the finances, including the Rector’s salary, budgets, insurance, paying all the bills, maintaining the property and grounds.

The Rector is responsible for the liturgy of the church including music, the educational program of the church, and the spiritual life of the congregation.

The vestry consists of Senior Warden, a Junior Warden and nine vestry members elected to three year terms. A treasurer and a recording secretary are also regular attendees at meetings.

The Vestry meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month to address the issues that the church faces. The vestry at All Saints is a very friendly, cooperative and hard working group.
